Family-Friendly, Safe Biking Routes Near Our Campground

If you're looking for a safe, meandering trail that the whole family can enjoy, you will love the Pigeon Forge Riverwalk Greenway. This scenic ride along the Little Pigeon River is just a short distance from our campground. It features four miles of trails around the sights and sounds of Pigeon Forge.

The Greenway winds through the city, taking you past some of the area's top attractions. During your family bike ride, be sure to visit:

  • Patriot Park: A greenspot that hosts many community events.
  • The Old Mill: An authentic Southern destination with eateries, shops and pottery.
  • The Leconte Center: A convention center where you will find many of the area car shows in Pigeon Forge

You can also drop by Crave Golf Club Mini Golf, escape rooms, the 7D Dark Ride Adventure and other fun happenings.

Another kid-friendly biking route near our Pigeon Forge campground is Townsend Bicycle Trail. This three-mile paved trail is in nearby Townsend, Tennessee. Stop for ice cream or a meal or do a little shopping at one of the several restaurants and shops along the trail.

Bike Trails Inside the Park

Explore one of the most beautiful national parks — Great Smoky Mountains National Park — by bicycle. This local treasure is just 15 minutes from our campground. While not every path is intended for cyclists, here are a couple of the trails you can traverse within the park: 

  • Cades Cove Loop: This 11-mile road within Great Smoky Mountains National Park is closed to motorized vehicles one day per week so bicyclists and pedestrians can enjoy the road without cars. Explore historic landmarks, marvel at stunning plant life and get excited about the possibility of wildlife sightings.
  • Gatlinburg Trail: This easy 1.9-mile trail is a great way to introduce your family to the joys of adventure biking. 
  • Deep Creek Trail: With its subtle climb and old mountain paths, the bicycle-friendly portion of the Deep Creek Trail takes you past serene mountain streams and a gorgeous waterfall.
  • Oconaluftee River Trail: This gravel-lined trail features beautiful riverside views and lovely foliage. It is flat overall, but there are a few small hills.
