Campground Reviews

Very poorly maintained campsites. Broken concrete tire ruts and flooding on most sites. Multiple water and power outages. We had much higher expectations for an expensive campground

We enjoyed our stay with the friendly staff and good fellow campers. However, we didn’t enjoy losing water and power numerous times throughout our stay. In fact, we had to leave a day early because our site wouldn’t have power or water the day before we planned to leave. Can’t clean tanks and pack the camper that way.

Very pleased with this campground . The pool was great, close to shopping , restaurants, etc. plenty of activities if you want to be busy. We biked everywhere. When they get the pool food place open, that will be great !

Lots to do great staff even though there was a staff shortage. Love this park.

Love the activities and pools/Shanty, but we had an electric breaker problem right when we arrived and was told to plug into neighboring electric posts until the electrician came. Neighboring campers were pulling in and it took a few days for the electrician came. It was a simple breaker that could have been replaced instead of waiting for a few days. Your staff should have some breakers available

WiFi really sucked. One hour of free wifi that didn’t work, anyway not what we expect from KOA! cable tv was in and out. Unsatisfactory!

It was our first stay with our new Leisure Travel Van and it couldn’t have been any nicer! Okeechobee was a great choice and such a close proximity. Very clean resort and everyone was very friendly. We will be back!

Low review rate due to park charges extra money for internet access. Also - park entrance sign not illuminated and hard to see at night.

Very tight spaces, neighbors with continuous barking dogs, neighbors walking through site to have their dogs go to the bathroom, neighbor hugged the sight line then opened slide into our patio area.

First trip staying at KOA's each night along our journey. We find the KOA's to be convenient to the highway, clean, safe with very friendly staff. We will book at KOA's in our future journeys. This location was over the top!! Thx for a great stay.

All good except the bathroom had no toilet paper in any stall. Was quite a shock and disappointment.

Only problem we had was the water heater in the speckled perch was not sufficient enough to even take one shower!!

Our stay was very relaxing. The resort was clean well organized and offered a great deal of amenities and activities.

You say one thing but you don't enforce any rules. Dogs on a leash outside while parents are away for hours a d dog is parking. RVers washing their boat on the grass. Laundry hanging outside to dry. I don't know if we will visit again after staying several times with you in the past. There are several other parks in Lake Okeechobee

Enjoyed the golf, pool, hot tub. Laundry facilities were close by. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely look forward to returning.

This is a sinking ship. Inconsistent fees for "residents" or annuals. Terrible staff in the office who bark orders at the campers and staff to follow stupid rules. No consideration for pets, no kid area, just a bar, a couple of pools and the elderly who "play" all day. (Petonque, PickelBall, Bingo, Dominos )and the men, 3 rounds of golf. The park guests all hate each other, #TOOMUCHDRAMA for us.

It is a lovely place to stay . Some of the rules are outdated or not enforced. We followed all the rules which our stay a little more difficult. No pens or kennels.leash 6 ft only was not followed buy many people. Some people had kennels and or pens. Many had permanent gazebos on grass which again not supposed to be allowed.

Too many bright street lights at night, also we were right next to the smelly sewer, bathroom needs cleaned and more kid games in the game/mail room. Besides that, this is our favorite KOA! I loved having the kitchen right next to us. Pool was great and so was the store with many needed items available!

The water and/or electric off every other day. Had to move us because cable didn't work.Which none of the cable worked in that section sent a cable repair man to look at it before moving us and he showed up with no tools. The mold laying in the washers was disgusting & very unhealthy conditions!Closed the shanty when having the Valentine's dance some of us weren't attending the dance I could go on!

For koa being kid friendly, well this one is not. The playground has been closed for years and there is nothing but a pool for the kids. The seasonal campers are very friendly. Park is overpriced for what you get.

Very clean even with all the rain. Thanks for having us there

Too cramped between spaces. Space maximized for profit, not comfort or convenience. To the point you have to ask your neighbor to move their vehicle to be able to hook up and leave. Poorly drained in case of rain. WiFi that they charge for that is still terrible. Not going again.

40 dollars plus tax is crazy for a checkin at 11:40 am It was pouring rain and the golf course was closed. We certainly were not going to use any facilities. The playground has been closed. Our lot was gravel and covered our motorhome in dirt from the rain. The lot was too narrow to put out our awnings the hole way. Our second site had water 6 inches deep at both front and rear of the site.

Not impressed with KOA Okeechobee - for it being a KOA Resort, it definitely is not that. For what it costs to camp, the sites are not worth the money. We've stayed at 3 other KOA's in Florida and their sites are much better and so is their overall facility. With what it costs to camp there, you would think internet, cable would be included. They claim to have cable but it doesn't work.

Great concert by Titans of Rock in community center and bake sale.

We have been camping at Okeechobee KOA annually, for over ten years. It has great amenities. However, at about $130 per night, this may be our last time.

Other than the electric being off for hours one day and then the water off the following day the price too high overkill on pet vaccination paperwork being asked for ahead of time, with subtle threats if not done. Let's see, no free Wi-Fi with all that cost, no reply to my text about cost adjustment....the workers were very nice

We had a good time at this campground. The sites are very close to each other. The golf carts are out of control. There are plenty of activities to keep yourself busy.

Great place to stay Hope to visit next year

New ownership is not doing the job. Constant water and power outages because they don't know where lines are buried. General condition of campground is run down, yet they are spending money moving new park models into the campground for sale/rent. The front desk is understaffed as are the store and Shanty. We were told the manager left shortly before our arrival. Our last stay after 8 yrs.

Pros - beautiful clean cabin with cold ac, stocked with linens, pillows, shower necessities, and a Keurig. My kids loved having their own side room with bunk beds. Each day staff would send a text of upcoming activities which was great. Very clean campground. Flea market, Lake Okeechobee, Walmart, Publix and Dunkin' are right next door. Cons - playground was under construction, pool was refreshing but the water became very warm especially the 1ft toddler pool. Only two shade screens and two umbrellas on the family pool deck leaving many chairs in the blistering sun (90+ degrees). Pool pavement was too hot. WIFI is not free. KOA staff were great and did a great job reminding guests of the pool rules. Thank you Lake Okeechobee KOA for great weekend away!

I have been coming to this KOA more than 20 years. It has definitely changed. Elizabeth at front desk is amazing. Cabin was clean. While I see they have made some improvements recently. The family pool was covered in bugs floating around large piles gross not even a net around as we was going to clean it ourselves. Some of the workers seemed as if they didn't want to work but wanted paid for it. It was Care camp weekend pool was full of kids my daughter was the only one who knew about the activity and participated. The old activity director used to yell around the pool to advertise she wanted people to come. At BINGO I went in guy running it said yes I said I'm checking on BINGO he said yes if anyone comes and I need more than 2 people once again pool was full but no advertising so I got my whole family of 5 to go in so my daughter could play BINGO. He even made a comment to his friend he was busy talking to well I guess I have to do BINGO. Lots of complaining about nobody doing activities but the past Activities director advertised shouting it at the pool area for families. My son was missing the Hungry Man breakfast as it was always his favorite on the menu he was sad to see it changed.

Great place with plenty of different things to do. You should never be board here. The staff and fellow campers are very friendly.
