Become one with nature while exploring the diverse Ohio hiking trails. Whether by yourself or with family or friends, walking the various trails is a great way to stay active while experiencing nature's peaceful atmosphere.
If you are wondering where to hike in Ohio, look no further. Here are some of the best trails in Ohio.
Visit Cuyahoga Valley National Park to try some of the best hiking trails. If you want a relatively short route, consider hiking the Brandywine Gorge Trail. It is a 1.5-mile loop trail with a moderate difficulty level. You will experience an elevation gain of 160 feet while walking the path.
It can get muddy if it rains, so ensure you wear the proper footwear to walk the route safely.
Another trail to try at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is the Cuyahoga Valley Ledges Trail. It is a moderately challenging, 2.3-mile loop route that welcomes people of all ages and leashed dogs. The path will lead you to and around stunning rock formations. While hiking, expect an elevation gain of about 209 feet.
Take a day trip to Hocking Hills State Park to visit the Rock House, an impressive, natural cave. The Rock House Loop Trail to the cave is about 1 mile long and moderately challenging because of the few steep and slippery areas. Walking to the cave includes a 203-foot elevation gain.
The short hike is worth seeing and walking around the cave before heading back down the trail.
Hike to the beautiful 15-foot waterfall at Blue Hen Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. You will take the 3-mile out-and-back Buckeye Trail from the Boston Mills Visitor Center to reach the waterfall. The moderately challenging route has a 580-foot elevation gain due to the many hills along the way, so ensure you wear the proper shoes while hiking.
