I was lied to and I don't like liars. When I checked in my site was changed. I asked about sites 31 & 32 (which I was told I was reserved for), and I was told 31 & 32 were booked and could not have either of them. During the entire time I stayed, only one of the sites was booked one night. Very sad.

We stayed to explore some of the National Monuments in northern Arizona. The park is easy to get to from I-40 or highway 77. The sites are big enough but the park is all gravel and the rain made it muddy. We stayed last year and visited the WigWam Motel museum, quite a surprise. There are a few murals along Route 66 to look for, too.

Nothing special about this campground

I was warm enough fortunately as it was extremely cold outside. I did have to ask them to clean the microwave and clean under the bed, both of which were quite dirty. Everything else was clean. Very friendly and helpful person at reception. Could use more light inside the main room.

very clean restrooms, helpful front desk staff, well-stocked camp store. Thanks!

Friendly hosts, great little store. I travel with two working dogs, so I love the extra space their own dog run provides, and the big dog park. Restrooms always clean and stocked.

One night stay while passing through. Very nice grounds!!! Easy parking for night time arrivals.

The Wi Fi was awful. The 75 cents to dry for 20 minutes was expensive. It was very muddy when it rained. The positives were nice store & T-shirts were priced well.

We came in just in front of a two day snow storm. While our tent is lovely, these kind people upgraded us to a nice cabin. Our ONLY issue was the water in the cabin (yes ,I know tent to water in cabin I shouldn't complain) was cold. The place was clean and the people were kind.

Camp ground needs new gravel on road ways, mud is working through when wet. Plus back for camp ground needs cleaned up.

Very enjoyable, nice and knowledgeable staff. Thank you

Stay was good. The only thing that would be nice if changed was the bathrooms (both men's and women's) smelled like sewage so we didn't end up showering because of the smell.

Spent 1 night in a tent. Really liked that the tent area had level grass sites with lots of room. Restrooms have seen better days but were clean and well-maintained. Did not use the showers or other facilities.

Unfortunately site was muddy, gravel was not enough, it shouldn’t be like that especially for this price.

A resident followed my wife into the office and accosted her, informing her that she (the resident) was a federal official and had a gun. The resident angrily gestured towards me and continued to harass my wife. Neither of us knew what triggered this woman. Felt unsafe here. This resident should stay in her lane especially if she’s armed, and not declare that she is.

Probably the worst KOA I have visit. Thigh spots, no separation (no room for that anyway). Nothing to do with the last few ones I stayed at. San Antonio, Nashville, Benson were all great…. When I reserve at KOA, I expect a certain standard. Petrified is under par. Sorry

Great location to see many sites. Comfortable and dog park was perfect. We paid for a patio site and it could have been in better condition. Grill was filthy so we didn't use it. It was nice to have some extra chairs for our family to join us for meals.

Brief overnight stay. Only problem was I had two nights and weather delayed my arrival by a day. I called to tell them I’d be there the next day. When I checked in she said I cancelled the reservation!. She fixed it but…. Otherwise, clean, nice sites!!

Very nice. I especially liked the deluxe tent site I was assigned to. I’d stay here again.

During two phone calls that were made trying to get a reservation. The desk clerk was extremely kind although she could not hear our broken up call. She assured us that there would be spots when we got there. On the second night we were there I noticed that the few of us were spaced every other campsite, allowing for lots of room between us. I thought that was a very nice gesture.

Very nice, clean KOA. The staff are very friendly. We had to leave a day early and received a credit for the day we didn’t stay. I was not expecting this at all. They earned my business and my recomendation.

Great location, clean grounds, and friendly hosts.

The place seems a bit run down in general. Bathrooms could use maintenance.

The XL site was not extra long, it was only about 40 feet so had to park truck next to fifth wheel and take up campside space. Also, the roads and campsites were per mud each time it rained. There is barely any gravel down. Very disappointed as I love KOAs.

Quiet stay. Pull thru full hookup. Sites are close together. Close to I-40 and about 35 minutes from the Petrified Forest. Our site was level when we used in. No shade which was OK with us. Propane fill was convenient. Would stay here again

Very close to the petrified forest, maybe 15-20 mins! Perfect after a long day of exploring. They have breakfast and dinner grill where you can buy select items off their menu which was really fun and made it easy after a long day of travel. They have some really nice spots with a patio, grill, chairs, and fire which is what we booked. Had a fire on for the rest of the night!

We rented a cabin and we're pleasantly surprised to find a beautifully appointed bathroom which is unusual for KOA cabins. The park itself was pretty and clean. The chuckwagon style meals served we're very good. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We stayed here for a week. The campground is on the northeast end of Holbrook. There are two parallel one-way entrances lanes to the campground: use the right lane to pull up next to the office and check in. Except for four back-in sites that seem to belong to longer-term residents, all of the RV sites are pull-throughs with gravel pads, gravel yards and picnic tables. Most sites have full-hookups as well as cable connections: a very few have just water and electric (and cable), while the sites marked on the map as being extra long might not have cable. Individual site amenities vary a great deal. Some sites have waist-high pine trees along the border, some have fences between sites, and some have adjacent tree (all sites are open to the sky, though) Some sites have patios that simply have chairs; others come with a gas-powered grill. A few patio and patio-free sites have a pergola, and some sites have small dog pens. Site 66 (likely because the campground is just off of old Route 66) is the ultimate site with a large patio area with a grill and pergola surrounded by a privacy fence. There are also a number of tent and cabin sites. We stayed in site 50, which was the last site on the east end of our row. All east end sites have a tall fence wall on the right side of the site, likely to block some of the light and sound from I-40 across the way. Our site wasn't long enough to fit our 21-foot truck and 37-foot fifth wheel front to back, but it was a designated wide site so we easily fit our truck between the camper and the fence. Our site was level, and the hookups were all near the back. The office building has a decent-sized souvenir and convenience store, with a laundry room located on the side of the building and bathrooms located in the back. There is a large playground on the west side of the office with a single basketball hoop and horseshoe pit, and beyond that is the swimming pool. Across from the office is the propane refill station, the dump station, and a communal area with a large petrified log and a small walk-up restaurant where they serve pancakes and host cowboy cookouts in season. There is also a second bathhouse at the back of the campground; all bathrooms are secured with keypad codes. The best places to walk dogs are either along the dirt pet walk area on the east side of the campground or in the fenced dog park on the west side. The dog park has a grass and dirt surface without any of the usual KOA agility equipment (which means a bit more open space), a single bench, and no dedicated lighting. In terms of cell service, the best bandwidth I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna showed 16 Mbps down and 12 up, and other than very occasional buffering I had no problem working and streaming video. The best speed I saw on my AT&T smartphone with 5G was 86 down and 18 up. I tried out the campground WiFi the morning we left and got 3.5 down and just 1 up. If you're a light sleeper, you may struggle here: I-40 is visible from the east and south sides of the park, and you can faintly hear the semi-trucks as they pass by as well as the occasional train. We would stay here again if we were in the area.
