How to Plan Your Trip and Make Reservations

We're excited to host you at KOA during your holiday! Planning your trip and reserving campsites with us is easy.

Reservations overview

KOA campgrounds are popular, and can fill up, especially during high season at popular destination campgrounds. That's why we recommend you make reservations in advance, especially if you know your itinerary. This will give you peace of mind, and give you more time to discover the wonders of traveling in North America.

The KOA Directory lists toll-free reservation numbers for every KOA Kampground, so you can make a reservation as you travel, or call if you have questions, once you've begun your trip.

Opening dates
In the southern and central U.S., most campgrounds are open all year. As you travel farther north and within Canada, campgrounds are open seasonally, usually May through September. Find a campground list and open dates here.

Late arrivals
You can arrive at your site after hours if you have a reservation. If you plan to arrive after 8 p.m., simply contact the campground so they can post your site on the night reservation board.

Cancellations
RV/Tent: 48 Hours-Notify KOA by 4 p.m. two days prior to your arrival date.

Kabin: 7 Days-Notify KOA one week prior to your arrival date.
Reservations made after deadlines will require a nonrefundable deposit. Holiday weekends, special events that require a minimum two-night stay or more and KOA Kottage and Lodge reservations may have special deposit and cancellation requirements.

Cancellation Charges
A $10 cancellation fee is charged for cancellations made prior to deadline. Cancellations after deadline will result in forfeiture of all deposit.

Rates
Rates are published in the KOA Directory and listed online. The base rate includes two people and one vehicle. An additional charge may apply for additional campers. Rates do not include taxes, which vary from 0% to 15% by city and state.
