Tent Camping ActivitiesGrab Your Bike and Hit the Trail!
Some KOA's are close to gorgeous scenic trails. At the Buena Vista, Colorado KOA, cyclists can fuel up on a hearty breakfast and eat their fill of ice cream on weekends. Relax in the hot tub or take a nice, long hot shower. The Buena Vista area is surrounded by mountain views with hundreds of miles of mountain biking trails all around. A very popular mountain bike trail is the Slickrock trail in Moab, Utah. The trail is just 12 miles long and isn't really slick, the sandstone is actually like coarse sandpaper, but pedaling on rock with sharp angles provides a challenge. There is a 2.3 mile practice loop and many more spectacular trails to choose from. At the Harrisonburg / New Market KOA in Virginia, you can pick up the mountain biking trail right at the campground and follow it into the George Washington National Forest. It is a short bike ride from Hayward KOA in Wisconsin to the CAMBA trailhead. Off-road bicyclists of all abilities enjoy exploring the beautiful Chequamegon National Forest area on marked trails. Portions of the trails and roads are part of the course for the Chequamegon 40, one of the nation's premier mountain bike races, but you don't have to race, you can enjoy the CAMBA trails at your own speed.
