Horse Around at Your Favorite KOA!

Midwest meets Wild West at the Canton / East Sparta KOA in Ohio. Campers saddle up at the campground for one-hour guided trail rides that saunter through the woodlands of KOA and adjacent public lands.

"We have 30 horses from gentle to frisky and pony rides for children under 8," explains owner Carol Soehnlen.

For those who arrive with their own horses, KOA's horse sites provide a hitch and rail or room for a temporary pen. "A lot of our campers come for the riding. We try to make it convenient to enjoy all the trails in the area,"Carol adds.

You will find many horse-friendly KOA's across North America with nearby trails and room for your horse trailer and, often, an on-site corral or hitching post for your horse.

Colorado

• Sign up for a guided ride at the Buena Vista KOA



• Bring your horse to the excellent boarding facilities at the Limon, Colorado Springs South, and Fort Collins North / Wellington KOA's.



• Explore trails on horseback that fan out near the Cripple Creek / Colorado Springs West and North Park / Gould / Walden, Durango East, and Estes Park KOAs.

Kentucky

• Add your steed to the scene at the Bowling Green KOA, complete with stables and an exercise pen
• Stay at either the Louisville Metro, or Louisville South KOA's and visit Churchill Downs, home to the Kentucky Derby and a horse-racing museum.

Ohio

• You can saddle up at the Canton / East Sparta KOA in Ohio for one-hour on a guided trail ride through the woodlands. For kids under 8, there are pony rides. If you arrive with your own horses, KOA has horse sites which provide a hitch and rail or room for a temporary pen.

South Dakota

• Enjoy horse-drawn hayrides, trail rides and on-site stables at the Mount Rushmore / Hill City KOA in South Dakota.

Wyoming

• In Wyoming, let your horse relax in the Rock Springs KOA corral, and then set out into the nearby Red Desert for a glimpse of a wild herd.



• Enjoy a horseback ride at the Cody KOA and saddle up at the horse friendly Devils Tower KOA.

British Columbia

• Ride into lush countryside on equestrian trails from the Revelstoke KOA's boarding corral.
