Enjoy a Hike To a Spectacular Sight-Stunning
Calf Creek Falls

Calf Creek Falls

One of the prettiest waterfalls in the region is Lower Calf Creek Falls in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, a 1.9-million-acre hiker's paradise in south-central Utah.

The stunning 126-foot-high falls cascade over moss-draped red rock into a deep, refreshingly cool pool. The falls mark the end of a fairly easy and level 2-3/4-mile-long developed hiking trail that mostly follows Calf Creek.

The trailhead starts at the Calf Creek Campground, located between the towns of Boulder and Escalante on State Highway 12. A brochure available there, points out things to watch for along the way, such as petroglyphs left by ancient cultures. It takes about 45 minutes to reach the falls.
