In its gold boom years, Virginia City's prospects were so promising it was named Montana's territorial capital. Even though the gold played out, the town and nearby Nevada City show visitors a good time. Stay at this campground and you're minutes from the narrow gauge railroad excursion train, the H.S. Gilbert Brewery, and the museums, shops and restaurants of these lovingly restored frontier towns. You can still turn up the occasional gold nugget panning at Virginia City. Another treasure, Yellowstone National Park, is 90 miles away. Hiking, biking, hunting, fishing and other mountain activities are just minutes from our full service KOA.
