What to Do While Camping in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania

You can find gems and fossils at our Black Bear Mining Sluice or if your family is in the mood for a full-scale adventure you can schedule a tour of Penn's Cave, America's only all-water cavern and wildlife sanctuary located only 30 minutes away! You can also spend the day at our bike park on-site or on the hiking trails near State College, PA, offering course designs for various skill levels. You can head out for a day on the lake to try your hand at catching fish like bass, blue gill, catfish and more at Sawyer Dam, a 14,000-acre lake. America's only all water cavern and wild life sanctuary! This unique cavern was formed by the bed of a shallow sea that existed millions of years ago. An immense spring of unknown origin flows into the cavern and allows you to ride the one-mile tour entirely by motorboat.
