Black Canyon City KOAMeet Your Hosts![]() As lifelong campers, Jack and Lauren Sheaffer enjoy the opportunity to create a great camping environment for their guests. They are nestled in a lovely area, in a canyon between the mountains north of Phoenix. The scenery and natural landscape are beautiful, and the campground is in a good central location, with Phoenix, Sedona and Prescott within easy driving distance. The campground is also surrounded by 50,000 acres of BLM land, he added. "We wanted the most beautiful, clean and quiet campground we could find, and Black Canyon City sure fits us well," Jack said. They purchased the Arizona campground in the fall of 2004, and the move has been great for their family. They moved from Atlanta with their three children, seeking a change in lifestyle that would give them more family time together and a less hectic pace. Jack worked in management in retail and home improvement businesses, and Lauren previously worked in the insurance industry, and also spent several years helping families adopt. Their backgrounds in business and management have helped them in their transition to campground ownership, he added. "We're outgoing and friendly," Jack said. "We look at the campground as though it's our house, and everyone who comes here is our guest." They've often developed personal relationships with campers, and are happy to provide a wonderful place for them to sit back, relax and regroup. "It's a picturesque setting in between two mountain ranges, a mesa and our next door neighbor is a monastery," he added. They take time for their children, and the entire family participates in Tae Kwon Do classes together, he added. Lauren enjoys crafts, and Jack enjoys hiking, outdoor activities and woodworking. Come meet Jack and Lauren Sheaffer. |
