The Yampa River flows through the town of Craig, which is located in a mountain valley 40 miles west of Steamboat Springs and 90 miles east of Dinosaur National Monument. Big herds of elk roam in the nearby mountains, and the deer and the antelope play in the campground. You'll find plenty of great trails to explore, with opportunities for hiking, fishing and hunting. While at the campground, you can swim in the heated pool, play horseshoes and tetherball and enjoy the new sand volleyball court. Your family dog will love the expansive pet walk! Browse and shop the gift and convenience store and enjoy the state-of-the-art laundry room. Hunters can use the skinning and cutting room. While in Craig, don’t miss the Museum of Northwest Colorado, which houses a cowboy and gunfighter collection, a treat you won’t forget from your stay in the wild, wild West.
