Royal Gorge / Canon City KOAOpen April 15 - October 1 We are located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains with panoramic views of spectacular scenery. You can relax with no noise from planes, trains or automobiles. Our night sky gives you a crystal clear view of as many stars and constellations you could ever want to see. We are at 6300' above sea level. Our days are warm to hot; our evenings cool off for a wonderful night's sleep. This Kampground is a vacation destination for families, groups or individuals - from new babies to great-grandparents, from small groups and reunions to groups of 125 or more. We can accommodate large rigs to large groups of tenters. Many people use this Kampground as a base camp for day trips to Colorado Springs, Cripple Creek and Pueblo, all of which can be reached within an hour, as well as to drive scenic routes in various directions from the Kampground. There is so much to do in the area; you'll want to plan to stay some extra time at our sister KOA kampground in Cripple Creek. There are many area attractions and activities - Royal Gorge Route Train, Buckskin Joe Old West Town, Royal Gorge Bridge, Dinosaur Depot & world renowned digs, numerous rafting companies, horseback riding adjacent to the Kampground and at Buckskin Joe, Red Canyon Park for hiking, Florence for antiquing, Shadow Hills for golfing, the Arkansas River for fishing and more. All of these opportunities for fun and relaxation can keep you busy for days! But there is more. The campground offers a daily breakfast service from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We have a full-service restaurant including homemade pizzas.Evening meal service is available for groups upon request. A small amusement park with go karts, a giant sack slide and a challenging mini golf course is here for young kids and adult kids! A shuttle is available to take you to area attractions. The Kampground area has all pull thru sites. We have ten kamping Kabins. The tenting area has secluded sites among pinon pine trees. There are areas for group tenting. Our store is well stocked with groceries to RV supplies to a large variety of gifts, T-shirts and souvenirs. We aim to please, come and see.
