Mystic KOAMeet Your Host Helen Simpson has been a 'people person' her whole life. Before becoming the manager of the Mystic KOA, she worked in real estate sales. She and Bob, her husband, decided to follow their passion and combine their love of camping with their work life. "The combination is awesome!" says Helen. "Camping has always been an important element of our leisure activities, so we decided to explore the possibility of combining our passion with our work. We try to bring our experience with customer service and camping together to match the wants and needs of our guests." "We want our campers to have a unique, memorable experience in our park, so that they will return with their friends and families. The campgrounds we have visited and returned to time and again were those that offered clean bathrooms, fun activities for the family to do together, and inviting, safe surroundings." Helen says. Helen and Bob were also managers of the Louisville South KOA, and find that the camping world can be a very close knit place. "It truly is a small world!" Helen says. "We spent a few weeks one winter camping in Florida. One of our friends asked us to visit them at their park in Ft. Myers. They told us to look for the number of their site, and as we started down the road, we noticed a large motor home next door to them. The owners were outside their rig, and we both looked at each other with surprise. They were former guests of our park in Louisville!" "As it turned out, they were friends of our friends, and had camped there many times over the years. That's why camping is such a unique experience - you get to socialize with so many wonderful people, and it seems as though we are all traveling in a circle together. It makes for wonderful stories to tell and creates great memories." When they're not camping, Helen and Bob enjoy reading and walking on the beach. Bob explores the history of dirt track racing and visits the tracks in their area. Come meet Helen Simpson. |
