Merritt Island National Wildlife RefugeThe 140,000 acres of estuaries, marshes, dunes and forests at the refuge provides both a buffer zone for NASA and a preserve for 500 species of wildlife, including bald eagles and manatees. There are four hiking trails, from a quarter of a mile to five miles, a seven mile auto tour, a manatee observation deck and opportunities for fishing and canoeing. The Visitor Center is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. year round and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. from November - March. Located in Titusville; 35 miles northeast of Kissimmee. GatorlandDon’t miss the Alligator Capital of the World; a 110-acre theme park and nature preserve.
