Today you will find the same thing! Visitors from all over the world come to the pools to rest, soak, and enjoy the scenery. Take in a massage to top off the experience, and you'll leave feeling relaxed and renewed. The Portneuf RiverTake a nice float down the little river that runs through the town of Lava Hot Springs. Several rental shops in town offer tubes that seat anywhere from one to four people. Within an hour, you can float the river twice. Be sure to bring water shoes to protect feet, and prepare for an adventure! The Olympic Swimming ComplexThis facility in Lava Hot Springs just keeps getting better! In 2009, steep speed slides were added to the mix of platforms, diving boards, swirly slides, rock wall, and large pools. Enjoy the spacious shallow area where young ones can play for hours. Take advantage of the family discount rate on Mondays-Thursdays! The Sunken GardensThese little gardens are a delightful sight. Meticulously maintained and free to the public, they are nestled down in naturally formed lava reef. This is a great little detour to take during your time in Lava Hot Springs. Located near the Hot Pools. FishingOur campers may fish in the river, right from the campground if they wish, and on a lucky day will snare a good trout. Another popular spot for fisherman is the Chesterfield Reservoir, located about 30 minutes from the campground. We have seen great catches come back to the campground from that spot (no fish tales here!) GolfTucked away in a scenic Idaho valley above the resort town of Lava Hot Springs is the Dempsey Ridge Golf Course. This privately owned public course is operated and carefully tended by a group of gentlemen with a deep-running passion for a great game of golf. They invite you to join us for family and tournament events, a bite to eat, expert instruction, and nine holes of challenging fun. ParksLava Hot Springs maintains several parks which are perfect for a family reunion meal, or just a place to romp for the children. These parks are available to be reserved for your group by calling City Hall at 208-776-5820. Wagon RidesA local company offers horse drawn wagon rides to groups. After riding up into a canyon, you'll be fed, entertained, and the children will play. Then it's back to the town of Lava Hot Springs. This makes for a fun evening! Bingo, etc.Every Wednesday and Friday night, you can play Bingo at the White Wolf Restaurant, and there is often live entertainment at the Blue Moon and the Wagon Wheel in town. Day Trips
