Precious Moments Chapel

Struggling artist, Samuel J. Butcher, first painted Precious Moments upon greeting cards and buttons, selling them to Christian bookstores. In 1978, Yasuhei Fujioka transformed the paintings into porcelain bisque figurines. Construction of the Chapel began in 1985, and the facility opened in June of 1989. The artist has dedicated his life to the ministry of the Chapel and considers it to be a “work in progress”. Fifty Biblical murals cover 5,000 square feet. There are thirty exquisite stained glass windows and several magnificent carvings of wood and bronze. www.preciousmoments.com

All nine manuscripts for the famous “Little House” books were penned right here on Rocky Ridge Farm. Laura’s home is carefully preserved just as she left it. In the museum next door, visitors can see Pa’s fiddle, handwritten manuscripts for “Little House” books, keepsakes of the Ingalls and Wilder families, tools and articles, and needlework made by Laura. www.lauraingallswilderhome.com
