Golf

Dunn - 18 hole - Par 72 championship courses - play among the long leaf pines and the rolling hills of the area

Fayetteville - this is the new home of the Fayetteville Golf Association. The FGA is a co-operative marketing effort of South of Fayetteville, NC's finest golf courses offering the traveling golfer the best valued golfing in the area. Many of these great courses are within a stones throw of I-95. making this destination one of the easiest to navigate. The Fayetteville area now boasts two recent winners of the "Best New Golf Courses in NC" award - Anderson Creek, designed by PGA Tour great Davis Love III and Tobacco Road, a Mike Strant design.

Professional Sports

Baseball - Fayetteville Swamp Dogs - J.P. Riddle Stadium. 2823 Legion Rd. The season runs from Friday, June 1, through the middle of August. A calendar will be posted on the website at: goswampdogs.com/.

Basketball - The NBA dream starts at the Crown Coliseum. The Fayetteville Patriots, a member of the National Basketball Development League, is led by coach Jeff Capel. Come and watch the future of the NBA. The season runs November through March. www.nbdl.com

Arena Football - Don't miss one minute of the action when The Cape Fear Wildcats. A recent addition to the arena football2 (af2) league, play at the Crown Coliseum. It's a 50-yard indoor war! The season runs from March through August. www.catsfootball.com

Auto Racing - Fayetteville Motor Sports Park - the drag strip features Professional E.T. and street E.T. drag racing on a ¼ mile track with a 200-foot concrete starting line - season runs march through October. Sunday 10am, sanctioned by the International Hot Rod Association. The speedway features stock car dirt-track racing on an oval .4 mile Clay track April through September, Saturday nights, 7pm.
