The best time to visit New Mexico is from September to November. During the Fall season, the weather is pleasant and it's the offseason so you might be able to score deals on everything from accommodation to food. When the weather is temperate, visitors get to enjoy New Mexico at its best and experience hiking trails, scenic drives, farmers markets, train rides, and even outdoor festivals. In September, Ohio has fun events and festivals that take place such as the New Mexico State Fair and the White Sands Balloon and Music Festival.

Each autumn, Albuquerque hosts the world's largest hot air balloon festival that lasts nine days. This tradition, starting in 1973, has grown to occupy a 365-acre park with over 500 participating balloons. Another great attraction is the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. This museum has over 1,000 paintings, drawings, and sculptures from the dedicate artistic legend Georgia O'Keeffe.

New Mexico has two national parks: Carlsbad Caverns National Park and White Sands National Park.
