Wapakoneta / Lima South KOAMeet Your Hosts![]() John and Debbie Schuettler had always dreamed of owning their own campground. They were lifelong campers, having progressed from a popup trailer to a fifth wheel over the years. In 2001, they decided life was just too short not to enjoy what you do for a living, and they purchased the Wapakoneta / Lima South KOA Kampground. "Customer service is Number One with us," says Debbie. "We treat all of our customers like we would like to be treated - with a welcoming 'hello' and a smile." In their "pre-KOA" lives, John was a universal grinder operator for 24 years, while Debbie worked as a secretarial supervisor for a law firm for 15 years. Now, their lives center around getting to know their campers. "We are interested in their travels - where they come from and where they are heading," said Debbie. "Since we are located on a north/south route, we have a lot of overnight camping business. We want to build a relationship with each and every camper, from popups to motor coaches." The Schuettlers have also kept very busy in the three short years they have owned their KOA. They have completely remodeled the store, and John has just finished major work on the campground's roads. "It took us three years, but we did it!" said Debbie. "And the campers notice. The minute they pull into our park, they notice the freshy gravel and well-maintained sites. We spend a lot of time making sure each site is clean and neat." It's a sure bet you'll like the way you're treated at the Schuettler's campground, because they love it here. "Two 30-somethings leaving great jobs, family, friends and the big city of Chicago to buy a campground in a small town," laughed Debbie. "What a lifestyle change!" Come meet John & Debbie Schuettler. |
