It's a Grand Summer at the Grand Theatre, June to September

A variety of Musicals and Comedy productions are performed during the summer.

Beat Beethoven Run, June 4

Take part in the annual "Beat Beethoven Run", a classic Kingston event. This fun, unique challenge combines an 8 km race or a 4 km fun run through our spectacular limestone city. Your goal is to finish the course before the completion of Beethoven's best music, performed live by the Kingston Symphony at a FREE CONCERT in front of our historic City Hall.

Sky is the Limit Festival, July 8

Be prepared for a day of fun filled events, exciting competitions and prizes, presented by the Kingston Police at City Park.

First Capital Day, June 15

June 15th of each year marks the celebration of the three years (1841-1843) that Kingston was the Capital City of Upper and Lower Canada. Highlights of the day include an official ceremony in front of City Hall, a parade and concerts.

Fanfayr Arts and Crafts Show, June 29, 30, July 1

This craft show brings artisans both local and visiting to Confederation Basin for a summer weekend. The show is full of unique and timeless pieces, perfect for yourself or a special gift.

At 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday evening throughout the summer, the rattle of marching troops and the thunder and light of cannons and fireworks will thrill local residents and visitors alike. Featuring more than 60 participants, the ceremony is actually a series of events depicting elements of Fort Henry's historic past. Three units of the Fort Henry Guard - the drill squad or infantry, the drum corps, and the artillery - each put on a parade and presentation. As well, the three groups together present a battle sequence. This is followed by the traditional lights-out ceremony. The large guns on the east battery are fired, after which the flag is lowered and an evening hymn sung. The evening wraps up with an impressive display of fireworks over Fort Henry hill.

Buskers Rendezvous, July 13-16

Balloons, flame throwing, unicycles, juggling, cartwheels, music and laughs - and that is just one act! One can easily spend the entire weekend roaming the downtown and catching the acts from around the world.

Kingston Symphony 1812 Overture at Fort Henry, July 21, 22

The tradition continues as the Kingston Symphony proudly presents the annual salute to Tchaikovsky with firings of our battery of cannons.

Sheep Dog Trials, August 12, 13

This annual two day event in August sees approximately 100 Border Collies pawing their way to the ranks of top sheep dog. The event is located at Grass Creek Park by the lovely St. Lawrence River. Other forms of entertainment include a birds of prey show, a sheep to shawl competition (sheep shearing), craft fair and musical performances.

Canadian Olympic Training Regatta, August 10-18

This international sailing event began more than 25 years ago and today runs as a two-week event of classes, competitions and crowds along the waterfront. This end of August event signals the end of summer to many people as the sailors delight in the 20 square mile course on our world class sailing conditions.

United States Marine Corps Tattoo at Fort Henry, August

The Battle Colour Detachment of the U.S. Marine Corps keeps years of tradition alive with stunning expert military drill, plus the music of the Drum and Bugle Corps.

Limestone City Blues Festival, August 24-27

It features more than 15 venues with over 30 shows, three afternoons of concerts in Confederation Park, and one Market Square concert.

Kingston Fall Fair, September 14-17

The 174th annual agricultural society show founded by John Graves Simcoe, Upper Canada's first Lieutenant-Governor in 1825.

Kingston Dragon Boat Festival, June 10

Dragon boats come from China and this competition and cultural festival celebrates more than 2400 years of it's history.
