Here's northwoods camping at its best. The Spragge KOA lies on the banks of the Serpent River, with water access to Lake Huron's gorgeous North Channel. Its sheltered waters are great for boating. The thousands of lakes and streams north of Spragge also captivate outdoor devotees. Climb the Fire Tower Lookout at Elliot Lake to get a good sense of the endless stands of hardwoods, spruce and cedar sheltering deer, moose and other wildlife. There are nearby hiking, biking and ATV trails that lead deep into the woods. Spring wildflowers fill forest meadows and brighten the campground, where you can fish right from the riverbank. Enjoy the pool and playground and join in monthly square dancing. Three golf courses are within a 30 minutes' drive. Stop at local farmers' markets on Saturdays.
