Charleston KOAMeet Your Hosts Being stuck behind a desk is not KOA manager Barbara Bard's idea of a good job. She likes to get outside and move around and greet customers. This is one reason, she said, why the Charleston KOA is a perfect fit for her job likes. Barbara originally worked in customer service for a trucking outfit before entering into the campground business in 1981. She learned the skills of the industry from a long-time campground owner. "I started with a man who knew the ins and outs of the camping business and worked for him until about 10 years ago when he retired," she said. Twenty-four years in the campground business gives Barbara knowledge to best serve the customer. "I've been here so long I feel I am a part of it," she said. She strives to see customers leave happy and knows that word-of-mouth advertising can make or break a business. Barbara is particularly proud of the newly remodeled bathrooms. When she is not working, you can find her at the beach relaxing with a book. The waves, she said, are a way to get away and get calmed down. Come meet Barbara Bard, Manager. |
