Badlands Petrified Gardens

Open daily Mid-April to November 1. The Badlands Petrified Gardens offer an astonishing and unique view of the geological history of the Badlands area, including the largest display of petrified trees and prehistoric fossils found in the Badlands of South Dakota. Some of the exhibits include: Sealife fossils over 200 million years old, petrified trees over 60 million years old, fossilized remains of the Sabertooth Tiger, Bear Dog, Titanothere and others, fluorescent mineral display, large display of Badlands minerals and agates, extensive Rock and Gift Shop. The 1880 Train

Big Thunder Gold Mine

Guided mine tours, pan for 24k gold by the stream, historic film, museum displays, snack bar and free coffee, complete 1880’s mining experience, one of the 1800’s original gold mines in the Black Hills, company store featuring gold products, panning supplies, unique gifts, and historical books, tours are easily accessible for all ages, picnic area. Beautiful Wonderland Cave

Open seven days a week from May 1 to November 1. Groups are welcome and special group rates are available. Explore a 300 Million year old Wonder of Nature, learn how caves are formed, see rare and colorful cave formations. The greatest show under the earth! Crazy Horse

Site opportunities include: scale models, audio-visual programs, displays of mt. tools and equipment plus much more to explain how and why the colossal mt. memorial is being carved as a tribute to the North American Indian -- all tribes. Open year round. Hours are Summer 7 AM to dark and Off-season 8 AM to dark. The Mt. carving is lighted nightly for one hour.

Black Hills Passion Play

Now widely acclaimed as the most impressive production of its type, the Black Hills Passion Play faithfully reconstructs the dramatic events of Christ's last seven days on Earth. The Passion Play is presented each Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm during summer season.
