Chattanooga North / Cleveland KOAMeet Your Hosts![]() The campground business is a joint family effort, according to the Wiles family, owners of the Chattanooga North KOA in Tennessee. Jerry and his wife, Harriet, along with his brother, Terry, and sister-in-law, Brenda, wanted to make a change in lifestyle and decided to purchase a campground together. Jerry had formerly been a surface coal miner. "We wanted to do something different," says Jerry, "and this was it." Originally, the two couples had wanted to purchase a larger campground big enough for two families to live on, but since Terry and Brenda had children who were still going to school at the time, that option was impractical. Terry and Brenda are now silent partners, while Jerry and Harriet live and work on the campground. They are constantly trying to improve their campground to make it more accommodating for their campers. Recently, they enlarged their sites to accommodate larger RV's. "We try to please everybody," says Jerry. "But if we can't do that, then we do the best we can. We try to get along with everybody." Come meet The Wiles Family. |
