Destination Campground

This is definitely a destination campground and perfect for groups and family reunions. Most campers stay for several days and sometimes the entire season, however, overnighters are certainly welcome.

Campground Description

The Flaming Gorge KOA Campground is situated in a valley, five miles up from a lake that is over 100 miles long and has approximately 400 miles of shoreline. It is boarded by Wyoming (Sweetwater County) on one side and the Uinta Mountains on the other. The town of Manila has a population of only 200 permanent residents. Campers cook their meals at the campground or can enjoy a meal at a small country cafe...and there are no fast food restaurants! This campground fits the bill for those that are truly looking “to get away from it all.”

Amenities

The Flaming Gorge KOA is the only private campground in the area and also the only campground with amenities such as showers, swimming pool and laundry room. The amenities and location make this campground an ideal home base while embarking on one of many exciting day trips. Every site in the campground has a view of the lake. Most sites are large enough for a boat, as well as the RV and another vehicle. Even larger spaces are available for monthly and seasonal guests.

In addition to the items listed under the amenities button on this website, we also offer room for slide-outs, 50 amp service at all RV sites, and Cable TV and HBO at all RV sites (no charge). Additionally, we have a fish cleaning station and offer western line-dancing and lessons.

Some campers have described this campground as the "Oasis" because of its lush green landscaping and being located just south of the Wyoming high desert.

Atmosphere & Extras

We have many shade trees, lawns, a grassy playground and flower gardens. We promote family entertainment such as: basketball, horseshoes, a playground, and a heated 40x20 swimming pool. Throughout the season we have live music, dancing, karaoke, games and ice cream socials. We also provide guest transportation to and from the lake and, if needed, we will trailer boats for our guests as well. Local fishing guides will pick up our campers right at their site. We hope to provide our guests with an opportunity to relax and enjoy their family and friends!
