Campers Love Summershiners at Williamsburg KOA!

Our Summershiners are here to make your vacation the best ever! The Summershiner program strives to select young people with personal faith and strong caring hearts. Summershiners are full time employees of the campground and lead nearly all of the recreation activities and the chapel service. KOA Summershiners and KOA kids - so happy together! Join us for good clean family fun.

April 2009

Easter Weekend
Hop on over for Easter Weekend! Join us for our Easter Egg Hunt, a visit from the Easter Bunny and Karaoke Night. Be sure to bring your camera!

May 2009

Mother's Day Weekend:
Show mom how much you love her and camp for a cause. Stay and pay for Friday night and get Saturday night FREE! Special events will benefit KOA Cancer Care Kamps. We'll also make special gifts for mom.
Memorial Day Weekend:
Display your flag and decorate your site. Lots of fun and games, including sidewalk chalk, decorated bike parade and an ice cream social. Get your reservations early!

June 2009

Summer Bash (Second Weekend in June):
Summer is what we've been waiting for! The Summershiners are in full swing. Horseshoe tournament, sidewalk chalk, karaoke and more.
Father's Day Weekend:
On this special weekend all Fathers receive a "Stay one night, get one night free" certificate valid for the off-season. Let Dad know how special he is. Tie-dye a shirt $ for him or make a card. Activities will include a horseshoe tournament, and a chapel service in honor of Dad.

July 2009

July 4th Celebration:
Celebrate our country's independence with us by decorating your site with patriotic colors! Special events and activities this week will include tie-dye shirts $ (red, white, and blue), a decorated bike parade and face painting.

August 2009

Fun for KOA Care Kamps (first weekend in August)
Come squeeze in some more summer fun! Activities will include tie-dye $ and an ice cream social, with proceeds going to help kids with cancer enjoy some KOA fun.

September 2009

Labor Day Weekend:
Wind down the summer at the Williamsburg KOA Resort with a s'mores party! Check out our end of summer sale in the stores.

Columbus Day Weekend:
Fall is for fun! We'll have a pumpkin painting party and a special guest for kids!
Howl-O-Scream!
And don't miss Howl-O-Scream! This fall "spooktacular' is guaranteed to conjure up scary characters and ghoulish goblins as Busch Gardens celebrates Halloween throughout the month of October. Guests can witness the haunting of Das Festhaus, fearfully wind through a monster-sized maze, experience an eerie laser light show or climb aboard a haunted locomotive. There also are activities for the younger children.

Christmas Town: A Busch Gardens Celebration
New for 2009, Busch Gardens will transform into a winter wonderland of beautiful decorations, live entertainment and more than a million twinkling lights. They are bringing you holiday traditions from around the world, collecting unique gifts and debuting some delicious holiday treats. And tell the kids they'd better be good (for goodness sake), because Santa Claus is coming to Christmas Town.

In the 18th century, illuminations were sometimes held to commemorate the birth of the reigning sovereign. Today, Colonial Williamsburg's Grand Illumination celebrates the winter holidays. Musical performances on multiple stages and fireworks launched from three locations usher in the season with a bang.
Colonial Williamsburg's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
December 24, 2009
Colonial Williamsburg and the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg co-sponsor the lighting of an evergreen at 5:30 p.m. on Market Square. Following the tree lighting, the Historic Area glows in the light of candles lit by community and guests.
