Stay in the heart of Civil War country, 65 miles from the nation's capital. Camp next to a trench where Civil War soldiers faced off. Explore the site of John Brown's raid, Antietam National Battlefield and other nearby historic sites. Seasonal weekends at this campground include pancake breakfasts and planned activities, capped by a ceremonial cannon firing at KOA's Civil War Reenactment Museum. KOA boasts 280 sites, 42 Kabins and Lodges, a 300-person conference center, indoor basketball court, game room with pool tables, movie theater, pizzeria, large heated pool, wading pool, giant outdoor checker/chess set and a new Jumping Pillow! Hardwood trees glow with color in the fall here, where three states meet at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers-great for tubing, kayaking and whitewater rafting.
