Amazing cabin and amenities. Beautiful property in a great location. There were lots of things for the kids to do. It would be a 5-star, 10/10 review if the internet wasn’t so terrible that we couldn’t reliably connect with our friends in the local area to make plans. Being in an area with no cell service and no in-cabin telephone, upgrading the WiFi should be a top priority.

The resort is awesome. The location was amazing. The staff was great. The bed mattresses in the 6 person cabins were horrendous. We didn't get a single night of good sleep due to how bad they were. It became clear they were bad once we arrived at the Cody, WY KOA where the mattresses were phenomenal.

I left a list when we checked out of things that needed attention. I forgot to mention the shower faucet need fixing or replaced. Everyone was very pleasant but the cabin we paid alot of money for was very disappointing.

It was amazing. So much for the kids to do. The cabin site it self was clean and cozy. There were hardly any bugs. The staff was amazing and very helpful.

It was a great venue, I thought things were a little expensive. That is the only reason I didn't give you a 5. Pancake breakfast, golf cart rental, horseback riding, all of those extras could have been cheaper and I would give you a better rating.

Very peaceful and close to very clean nice restrooms and showers The only suggestion was the dryers I tried 4 out of 4 at 50 cents a piece and still was not dry and they were not towels but everything else. Great !!!

We loved it here. I did think a few of the amenities that were advertised would be up and running were not so that was disappointing.

Everything was done very well. We were greeted when we arrived and driven to our campsite and cabin. They explained the amenities and gave us great suggestions on things to do while we were there. We will definitely come back with the family again!

The quality of food at the restaurants on the resort were not great for how much it costs. I just wish the prices would match the quality. There was also no wifi. This is the first KOA I’ve been to that didn’t have WiFi. Otherwise, it’s a great KOA and we would definitely stay again but probably avoid the restaurants.

Location is amazing. Our cabin was on a slight slope and a couple nights it got pretty chilly w no space heater available. Otherwise great experience! So many activities for the kids while providing a relaxing atmosphere for the grown ups.

Deluxe Cabin was nice. Bink beds and loft somewhat uncomfortable. 7-8 people with 1 bathroom was hard.

What a beautiful campground full of amenities and things to do. We stayed in the Deluxe cabin and it was very nice to have all of the cookware and tableware and linens. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The campgrounds were very beautiful and serene. We enjoyed playing mini golf and the playground. All four kids had a blast and as parents, we loved making memories as a family camping here!

We loved our stay here for our very first time at Mount Rushmore! The cabin was so nice & peaceful. The staff was helpful when we had questions & they were always willing to help, with smiles on their faces. I would definitely recommend this KOA to family & friends. We have already told our neighbor about this location for their future visit. :)

The cabin was very nice and clean when we came. The patio and bonfire area were very spacious. We loved the playgrounds for the kids also!

Great location and great view. The camp ground had just opened and did not have a chance to experience any of the amenities. We would come back again.

Stayed for two nights end of September in Kamping Kabin, surprised it wasn't heated. Stayed at two KOA's the previous 4 nights and they both had heaters in their lowest rate Kabins. Toilet in mens bathroom was constantly clogged, otherwise they were nice ( very good hot water ).

So much was already shut down, bathrooms were quite a ways away from our cabin. The mattress were TERRIBLE. The only water source was the bathrooms. Our hook up was off. I understand that we came in at the end of the season, but I don’t appreciate being charged the same amount as a regular season. The store closed so early we couldn’t even grab things for our evening meals.

Glamping cabin: bed comfortable, but porch light broken and no one came to fix it, no pegs/hooks on walls to hang anything, wasps in cabin. ...and please, enough with not having paper towels in bathrooms at KOA. I can't stick my face in a hand dryer or wipe down a surface with it.

This is a really nice KOA, and the staff/crew/folks that work there are very friendly, and eager to help in any way. There's so much to see and do in this region of South Dakota, that it's impossible to see all the near by sites in just a few days. I'd say stay at this location for 1 week minimun, and that should give you plenty of time to see quite a few places of interest. But do stay here.

We’ve camped at several KOAs in their small cabins. It was a terrible campground. There was deferred maintenance in the cabin and in the bathroom building. Ripped screens allowed flies and wasps in the cabin, could see daylight through the walls. The worst part was that they were regrading the campground roads 15 feet from cabin- vibration, loud heavy machinery all day. Not peaceful! Do not stay

First stay at a KOA. stayed in a primitive cabin 5 nites and used public facilities. Clean and comfy we were. Would do it again.

Please clean the bathrooms and camping cabins better. Dead flies and bees in the windows and dirty slime on bathroom floors. Noticed 3 cleaning people went into a camping cabin for less than 1 minute ( that’s not long enough to clean out a cabin ) Otherwise - your KOA property is beautiful - very clean camp ground. Thank you

We would have given this a 5 rating if they hadn’t closed the only close bathroom with one day left on our stay. Walking blocks in the middle of the night to use the bathroom is a treat - add to that walking up hill & out of breath. Hard to get back to sleep. Please keep in mind camping cabin people when locating bathrooms! Beautiful campground & cleaner than last time we were there.

Lovely campground and very responsive service by your staff. I stayed in Cabin 204: quick service when we needed a faucet replaced- thanks! A few things you'll want to check out: I believe the refrigerator compressor is going out - it makes a very loud noise frequently during the day and night. Toilet flush handle needs checked as well. Blinds need repaired! I thought we'd have an oven...

Our stay was perfect from start to finish and the amenities offered at Mt Rushmore KOA Resort at Palmer Gulch are wonderful. We will definitely stay at this location again in the near future!

Been staying here for most years out of the last 20. Starting to feel like it's not worth what is being charged now. Sign on the pool said open until 8:00. This was not true. Wifi was basically not functional, intermittent and slow. It's 2023 and you're charging a premium. You need to do better.

Stayed here in a pull through, full hook up camping site. We loved our time here as is was an EXCELLENT location near several hiking trailheads (15 min from Sylvan Lake) and Needles Highway. The campsites were clean and there was a lot for kids to do here. My only complaints is that the campsites were small and many large rigs ended up parking their vehicles on the grass of their campsites and the dog park was tiny. We ended up taking our dog elsewhere to run and spend time off leash. Overall, a great stay.

Excellent. Loads of activities. Fun for kids. Clean. Nice. Wife didn't want to leave, and she doesn't even like camping. Between Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Pizza wasn't very good. Overall, it was still excellent.

Awesome campground! We recently camped in our RV for 7 nights. The grounds, buildings, etc... were all clean, the staff was super friendly, and the amenities were fun. We ate at the restaurant twice. The food was good and the service was great. Lamarr waited on us at the restaurant twice and was awesome. Great family environment!
