Campground Reviews

Great location just outside of Harper’s Ferry National Historic Park. They have a lot of nice large sites. There were plenty of empty sites while we were there, but they put us in what appeared to be a new site without established grass. The gravel pad was narrow and it was impossible to set up or just enter the camper without stepping in mud. The staff and all of the amenities were great

Very expensive for sites where we are squeezed in and too small. No digital cable tv, difficult to potty dogs because most ground is macadam and gravel. Had to walk dogs out of campground to do do their business. Most annoying was $2 per dog charge. Ridiculous! First campground we encountered that charged dog fee.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Harpers Ferry KOA. We will be camping there again, I'm sure. We camped there many times in the past and are delighted to see all of the improvements in the campground infrastructure. One thing of note; we camped in site 110. Great site but the front to back level was off, a lot. I suspect this was to ensure drainage from the site. Same for 111 and 112.

We were at the CG with our club, we had 10 rigs and 21 people. I'd return again if I wanted to visit Harper's Ferry and Antietam, or head into Charles Town for the Casino and the Horses. We had good power, decent water pressure. Many of the sites are frankly too small for any camper or RV. They are pretty much long enough, but they are narrow and stepped.

It was our season-opening shakedown weekend... all systems are GO! Everyone was extremely nice and helpful from check-in to check-out. Met Tracy at the wine tasting... wish there were more options and even some higher quality wines to taste, but for what it was it was ok.

Short, just a couple of nights, but we really like the campground and amenities.

Not what we are used to with this campground!!!!We tried the new premium back in site 105. When we arrived there were piles of dirt from landscaping which your staff had to remove for us. The site itself was so close to 106 that we felt uncomfortable for our neighbors. Fortunately the neighbors were family and we made the best of it. The campground needs to look into this

Hidden fee for pets, She said it’s $2.00 for each dog .I was told I had to unhook my tow car and leave it near the office, she said my site was too short. I gave them my total length why would they give me that site for one night? Site was off 6 inches side to side. $10 resort fee per nite. $30.00 site lock in fee. I won’t be back. Small sites. I was able to just fit in that site with the car

The check-in employees at the office were wonderful, they answered all our questions, big smiles, and we enjoyed talking to them. One issue we had with our 42’ RV, it was very difficult to get into our spot because of the narrow roads we had to ask other campers to move their vehicles… If we come back, we would get an up to date site, better to manage.

Need better hot water in the showers, and mats on the floor. The tiles are slippery when you step out off the shower. The camp is beautiful and staff is very helpful,.

only issue I have with the "Big Weekend" is now you charge more to stay and do less activities. Also the girl at the jump pillow needs to wait until the rain actually starts before closing it down.

Great site and very clean. Super friendly and helpful staff.

We enjoyed it even though the weather wasn't the best. Loved the pancake breakfast.

Staff are all so personable and helpful !!

Overall a pleasant weekend stay. Campground is nice and workers were very friendly and helpful. Biggest issue for us is getting there from our home in southern Maryland is DC beltway traffic which is horrendous.

Far more congested and paved that other KOAs I’ve seen. Great access to national park but just not an appealing place to stay.

Stay was OK, really liked the convenience to Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. The site definitely wasn't the worth the rate paid. Store had plenty of features but nothing else open. Also, bathroom/shower room/laundry room was a disaster one night but the next night, shower room was OK. Didn't visit others that night, Too many tight turns and too much road noise. Staff was good to work with

Some of the sites are unlevel and it is difficult to set the trailer up without using lots of blocks on the front jacks. The first site they gave us was this way and was way too short for our 37 foot fifth wheel. They gave us another site but not without a great deal of insistence on my part. KOA is not very flexible about reassigning sites when the one they give you doesn’t work.

Excellent stay! Very clean Deluxe Cabin and encountered an always friendly staff member

We were put in site 112 with a 32' Class C motorhome. It would have taken 10 sets of leveling blocks just to get close to level. This site was horrible! I should have asked for a better site, but that's my mistake. The campgrounds mistake believing that the site was acceptable.

Booked a no-electric tent site for a few days while hiking in the area. This campground, while it has a lot of amenities, is not set up for tenting. Sites were small and sloped, the site boundaries were unclear, and in general they were not well maintained (had a rotted picnic table). I would not recommend anyone stay here for tenting.

Awesome KOA! Great Amenities and Great People! We will be back!

Pluses: The bathrooms and shower houses are nice and clean. The amenities at the park for kids are great. Negatives: Our site was incredibly uneven with gravel. The bounce pad has set hours, which are not posted or predictable. One of the shop staff was incredibly rude during an encounter outside the shop and should really remember to be respectful when talking to people.

The camp site (101) was a great site!

Cabin K101 not level….. very noticeable inside. Can of soda place on floor rolled toward the bunk room side. And it rapidly picked up speed! Otherwise, very nice cabin!

VK pricing went up, however you no longer get a table cloth and bundle of firewood. This was something my group looked forward to. A fee should not have to be paid to "lock in" your site that you are booking either.
May 06, 2024
Sites were broken railroad ties and gravel. Pull through site wasn't long enough to park the truck in front of the camper. Very sparse grass only dirt which turned into mud in the rain. A ridiculous "resort" fee plus charging for dogs was NOT mentioned when I booked it through the app. Completely overpriced for what it was. Will never stay at this KOA again.

Wonderful stay. The staff took care of our needs and made for a nice stay. The activities for kiddos are amazing. The lady who directed the crafts was perfect. We loved our stay and will come again. Great spot for families. Nice clean, big sites.

Staff was fantastic and took the time to chat with me personally during my stay. The suggestion to upgrade to a cabin from a tent because of soggy weather was just perfect. I enjoyed the cabin. And the dollar pancakes for a fast start in the morning was GREAT! They were good too. I'll be back!

A quick 2-night stay, first outing of the season to check out the RV after storage. Small sites, not easy to maneuver a big rig. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice stay.
May 06, 2024
Very accommodating when we had to change sites because we couldn’t level. However, your water tastes awful even with a filter on the line. Hubby says it was too much chlorine.

This is an amazing campground! Just a quick overnight but wish I could have stayed a few days. A great area and lots of nice amenities and friendly helpful staff.

Booked a single night stay while travelling, planned to use the campground's restroom/showers. The only ones were a single bathroom and shower. Both in poor repair, smelled of sewage. Sink propped up by wooden dowels; shower - no bench or shelf. The many amenities were mostly closed, but price was not reduced. AWARD WINNING KOA?? We would never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful stay. Everything was perfect!!
May 03, 2024
Sites are not very level. Picnic table was in bad shape with rotten wood. People were very friendly and helpful.

Could use a second dumpster in the main registration/parking area. Beautiful setting, however. And, impressed with how the campground is always improving.

Might as well shut down the laundry. Doors on driers broken, washer that that took half hour to fill with water. Several machines out of service. Tried putting us in a cite that needed trees trimmed. Sites with tree stumps you had to dodge. Office help was arguing with me. About the laundry. Just basic maintenance needs done. Looks like they just don’t care.

This KOA is ideally located very close to the Harpers Ferry National Historic Site. It has a ton of stuff to do like a game room, indoor basketball, pizza, and wine tasting. There is a large, very well-stocked camp store. We were there in early May, so the season was just getting started. The staff in the store were very helpful. But the maintenance staff, less so. I tow a travel trailer and waited about 10 minutes for an escort to my site before I worked it out myself. Also waited about 10-15 minutes for someone to fill my propane tanks. Still it is a great KOA, and I would stay again.

Our go to campground in Harpers Ferry when we decide to bring our travel trailer. Pancakes and breakfasts are great. Plenty of things to do for our kids. On site wines. Friendly and very helpful staff. Sites are clean. Most of the sites are decent, some are small depending on the size of your camper. Camp store is convenient and decently stocked. If they don't have it, Charles Town is right down the road and you can get it there at Walmart or several grocery stores/ pharmacies. Takes about 10-15 minutes to just walk to the Harpers Ferry visitor center/shuttles instead of driving.
