We have been staying at this location for over 30 years. This year we were very disappointed to see the basketball goal gone! We feel like this was a great activity for our older children and us adults . While you have the park for the younger children. Also first time ever bathrooms were not up to par. There was 2 days no paper towels in bathroom connected to pavilion .

Had a great time! I did need 6.00 in quarters to do laundry and the office lady would not break open a package of quarters. She said I needed to buy the 10.00 wrapped quarters. I only had 6.00 cash on me at the time. Said I could go to the koa store and get quarters. Not service excellence.

The staff at this koa were fantastic. They made me feel like family. Made reservations for October. Can't wait to come back

We love KOA! The sites are always well maintained and staff is always friendly and helpful. While there, we ended up with a dead car battery and within minutes a staff member had recharged it and had us ready to go. Our kids love the pool and activities as well. We won't camp anywhere else!

Everything was great from the staff at registration to the wonderful activities. This campground is run in an excellent manner. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will be back.

Great Campground. Love the river and the cleanliness of all the facilities. Staff could be nicer but maybe just having a bad day. Disappointed the basketball goal was taken down. The kids had a lot of fun there with their friends. Maybe make a new one next to the pavilion. We love it here. Been coming for 15 years or more.

This KOA is just wonderful. It has beautiful sites, clean and well kept grounds, and a wonderful staff. Next time we will surely try for one of the river front sites. It's shady and the sites are not too close together.

As soon as we rolled in we were welcomed. They escorted us to our camp spot so we didn’t have to search for it and even helped us back in quickly on the first try. They picked up trash and were so friendly. Definitely will be staying here again.

we stayed in a cabin that had everything you would need and we were able to have our dog with us. we walked out in the mornings and the first thing we hear is the sound of the water running from the river. how awesome is that !! we will surely be back.

We had a shorter stay booked, the atmosphere and staff were so nice we decided to extend our stay. Luckily there was an opening. We are in the eastern Tennessee area 2 or 3 times a year. We'll be back at this nice KOA.

We have a large group that comes every year and rents multiple cabins and rv sites. This year the assistant GM was very disrespectful of one of our group. I do not know whole story but as a Bussiness owner I would want to know when a manager handles something as poorly as he did. Not enough room here but would be glad to elaborate if you want to reach out. Still love the Townsend KOA.

Nice place. Beautiful, but the prices have exceeded my budget. It's just too expensive. It's one of the most expensive places in the Southeast.

After a couple of years, the bathrooms shoukd be fixed before a big holiday weekend. Basketball nets should be brought back. After 50 years at this campground, prices are just about too expensive for me. Love the campground but all of our regular camper friends are no longer there due to excessive prices.

Very expensive. The patios being built are very nice. Large fire pits but cannot cook on them. Disappointed that work being done has not been completed by Memorial Day weekend. Last year pool was not open some showers not open this year. Showers in block bathhouse could use some upgrades. Need showers on end closest to national park. Lines to use showers.

We have stayed at this KOA many times in the past and will consider it in the future. However, the prices for a site are starting to get out of hand. It’s getting to the point where pulling a camper there doesn’t make sense compared to getting a hotel room. Also, for 180 a night, the WiFi infrastructure should be better. No cell service and bad WiFi during severe weather makes us not love it.

Enjoyed our stay over looking the river. First time at this campground but definitely will be back. Customer service was outstanding from check in to check out and everything in between.

Our cabin Dc13 was full of ants! Upon check in the maintenance staff came in and cleaned the top bunk bed off and sprayed the entire cabin. HOWEVER that hardly slowed them down. The air conditioner filter was also nasty and smelled sour. The front desk lady would not even discount the room. I said I will be leaving a truthful review. She said ok. The ants were in our bags upon leaving. Terrible!

This was a shorter add on to a longer stay as we didn’t want to leave. Great location on the quiet side of the smokies right on the little river. Beautiful location.

Princess weekend started wet but turned into a magical weekend that even our boys loved. Tie dye and their comfort movie, Cinderella. From fishing to playing in the river, swimming in the pool and just running around they always have such a blast and feel comfortable here. Out great Dane puppy loves the dog park too.

We stayed 3 nights at site 15 along the river and enjoyed the view. The only problem we had was people letting their dogs use the restroom there at site by the river. They offer a dog park and people should use it and not just anywhere they feel like it.

Nice pool, bathrooms and beautiful landscaping. However, site #100 TV Cable is bad, analog signal is fuzzy & digital signal is too weak to display. I got stung, 3 times, by yellowjackets!!! Otherwise, a great place to camp!

Our stay this year was wonderful, despite some storms. The staff was welcoming and always around if we needed something. The campground was in full bloom so we enjoyed many walks with our dog. We had some trouble with our dinghy on the day we were to leave and had to have it towed to Alcoa for service. The campground staff were supportive and helpful. A beautiful and well run campground!

A well-run and well-maintained campground. We had some issues with our camper, and the staff went above and beyond to help us. The facilities are top notch, as well, and in a great location.

Mary was super friendly and made booking over the phone in bad service a blast! Once we got in she thanked us for being patient with her and asked if I would give her a hug for being so nice over the phone. The feeling was mutual, Mary is the best! Whatever you are paying her, double it for great customer service alone, she is so sweet.
