Meet Your Hosts

Leigh Ashley and Fran Prior

We want to make our campers happy and would like them to choose us as their campground hosts while they enjoy Niagara Falls.

For Leigh Ashley and Fran Prior, owners of the Niagara Falls North KOA in New York, the timing for purchasing their campground was not what they had imagined. After purchasing their campground on September 11, 2001, they thought that no one would want to camp because of all the travel scares that were going on at the time. "It ended up being the opposite, though," says Fran, "because no one wanted to fly, so there was a big boom in camping."

Leigh, who formerly owned a bakery, and Fran, who owned an insurance agency, have been camping their whole lives, and had camped at the Niagara Falls campground quite a few times before purchasing it. "It was near our hometown, so we grew up there, and it was near Fran's grandchildren," says Leigh.

Since purchasing the campground, they have made numerous improvements, including a salt water pool, newly paved and graveled entrances, and a beautiful park with trees. They have almost completed an electrical upgrade for the entire park. Since having a major fire in 2007, they now have an updated store, bathrooms and laundry. "We want to make our campers happy," says Fran, "and would like them to choose us as their campground hosts while they enjoy the magnificent Niagara Falls", only 12 miles from their KOA.
