Room smell a lot like mold, very strong smell

K1 building has a hole in the floor that was covered by a broken floor tile, foot almost went through the floor. The toilet had a leak in the tank and consistently and loudly ran day and night. Unpleasant stay for a pricey fee. Security does a good job telling you what you can’t do

When we first got there we were greeted by the friendly staff. Our cabin was nice and clean. I liked that there were employees constantly driving around and checking up on the tenants. The pool was nice but may need some extra chairs or high tables. We enjoyed our stay and definitely come back. Thank you KOA!!

We really enjoyed our stay there. The campgrounds were well maintained and pleasant to walk around. Would *really* like the WIFI to be better. We will definitely come back.

We LOVE the property and definitely would stay again. The only negatives were the mosquitos!!! You could not be outside without getting swarmed.

Sitting on the porch watching the dolphins in the bay and seeing spaceX made our stay perfect. The staff were always cheerful and very helpful. We can hardly wait for a return trip. The only negative thing I can say is, stainless steel pans don't work on induction stove top. Otherwise our stay was perfect.

The common facilities were closed and the host did not inform that. The pier has also been removed. The sand playground was full of Southern sandbur.

Stayed in a deluxe cabin KL2, fry pan was stained, rear door was hard to open, rails dirty. Patio and outside furniture were very dirty. The cleanliness of the cabin just made us feel uncomfortable and we left a day early.

Everything was great. Just two issue with our until 1. The shower knob was loose and broke where we couldn’t use the shower. Called the number but no answer. Also the stove knobs don’t work to turn off or on correctly. After using stove we left for wedding and came back to see still on. Turning the knob would turn the red knob under it to off. Shower issues was headache all weekend.

We loved the large pool, the staff was great, the location was great, the grounds are well kept and we loved the palm trees (pool view heaven). Nice little kabin looking out at the bay! We will be back soon!

All families enjoyed their stay. It’s convenient with all the amenities. Beautiful scenery! Parking maybe a little more convenient. Swimming pool and jacuzzi was very nice. Some of the sliding doors were hard to open.

My daughter & I had a really super time while we were at your KOA, and hopefully we will be able to make it again for another stay in the near future! Your receptionist Dottie, was so very helpful to us, as we had a somewhat shaky experience to begin with,, but all came out well and everyone was happy, and the rest of the stay was wonderful!!! Our cabin #4 was amazing. The view of the bay was perfect. The KOA Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to leave early for a family emergency but we will be back soon. Thank you KOA

The cabin was great! The water view was amazing and made relaxing easy! Very friendly staff and ready to assist. There were missing pieces on the BBQ pit, and less than 5 minutes after reporting it we had a working pit. We really enjoyed our stay!

We came with friends who had their RVs and we rented a cabin. The cabin was great! The staff were all very friendly. I think they said they are about to do some much needed maintenance upgrades around the park. All in all, a great place to stay.

I booked KS24 7 nights beginning 4/19/23. I gave 48 hours notice on the fourth day Friday the 21st, that I wanted to check out on Sunday 4/23. I was told by staff that I would be charged for KS-24 regardless if I stayed until 4/27. I ended up paying for 4 nights even though I checked out. This is my 8 stay at KOA SPI since Feb 2020. I will not be coming back!

This is the first time I have stayed at a KOA, in this case in a studio cabin. It was everything I could have ever hoped for. Good accommodations, good locations, good neighbors, overall very interesting environment just to hang around in. The fact that I got to watch SpaceX launch Starship was icing on the cake

Deluxe cabin location was really great. Views awesome and was able to see the dolphins over near the old pier 19 area. That area was also great for sunset views. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Very friendly people, nice area, quiet and relaxing. The cabin is nice but can be improved by getting a better mattress, new bath towels and a paint touch up on on the inside.

The cabin was musty/ moldy smelling. If you want to go stay in a rundown cabin like you did when you went to camp at 10 years old, then this is the place for you. No refunds once you get there. Pictures online were very deceiving . The campground is run down and dated. My Husband said the staff was nice. They did have a nice dog area. Would not recommend to anyone.

We had a great stay. The cabin was cozy and it was very quiet at night. The people were friendly, both the employees and the fellow campers. It was a great stay for our first time at South Padre!

Campground is well maintained and clean. Our cabin, waterfront #4 had a musty/mildewy smell. I went and bought some frabreeze spray to help. Was able to deal with odor because of awesome location of this cabin. Great water view to watch dolphins and boats go by. Bed in cabin is very comfortable and cabin is well stocked.

We went for spring break, ( March 2023) it was a nice/ quiet Rv campground..all the staff was nice / helpful..The only problem I was confused about was.. I ask the lady at the office for towels the next day, I was informed that they only gave towels every 3 days, So I was very surprised, I had to used My towels to shower and swim for 3 days��..had to go to Walmart to buy towels for our 4da stay

Rented a cabin for our son and family. The cabin looked great on the inside but the patio chairs are falling apart, the rails around the deck is unsafe and falling apart and some are missing on the stairs, the sliding door going to the deck was almost impossible to open. Love SPI KOA but the cabin needs TLC

The cabin was nice and what we would expect from KOA cabins. The location considering you can see out on the bay was very nice, we saw lots of boats, birds, and dolphins in the bay from the porch. What you don’t expect is the terrible smell. If the tide is high and wind is low, the smell isn’t as bad. We weren’t able to even go outside it was so bad the first day/night.

Strong septic smell made it impossible to enjoy the porch and patio area. Staff advised the odor was coming from the bay? Furniture in cabin 8 is worn and needs to be replaced, pull out sofa had to be wiped down before we slept on it. Walls needed cleaning as well, I’m glad I brought my Clorox wipes. The AC struggled to keep the cabin cool and and a note on the wall said not to adjust below 70

Cabin needs some repairs. No idea how to replenish cabin toilet paper, coffee pods or get fresh towels. Cabins only sink is in restroom so dishes get washed in there…yuk! Office closes at 5:00 which is odd for an overnight stay facility. No consequence for dog owners that don’t clean up after their dogs.

This was our first time staying at KOA and it was very pleasant. The cabins across from the water had a wonderful view of the ocean. Great sunsets, comfy and clean cabins, and the karaoke was fun on Saturday night.

I like the new office but it does need better signage as I drove right past it to the old location. I enjoy the cabin overlooking the bay and it’s a peaceful and quiet environment. The new flattop cooktop will take some getting used to but it was ok after maintenance got it working. Looking forward to the next trip and I just got home b

Was relaxing. But one attendant kept coming to tell us over and over that our 14 yr old shouldn't be driving the golf cart. We let him once, but then we stopped cause he didn't have license to drive, but the attendant kept coming back and if he was sitting in it with his 70 yr old grandpa next to him he had the Gaul to come and tell them again if the 14 yr old is driving. Right after we had already told he wasn't. 3 times he did that. That was harassment and annoying. That's why I gave a one star for service.

Rented a tiny home for the weekend, and it was awesome. Very quiet despite all the campers in the park. Everyone was nice and friendly. Definitely recommend.
