We have a big yellow fence & sign out front. DO NOT USE GPS! GPS will run you down roads that are not RV & travel trailer friendly!

Jackson Square has loads of action happening day & night! The river, with its only authentic steamboat left on the Mississippi (Steamboat Natchez), is right across from the square. Cafe Du Monde, which is a New Orleans staple & one of the oldest coffee stands in the world, is across the street from the square. It still serves French coffee (Cafe Au Lait) & French pastries (beignets) to this day. All around the square are street performers, street musicians, artists & more. They are set up & performing day & night, every day. In front of the square are mule & carriage rides, that take you around the Quarter, filling you in on its history! At the back of square, is the famous St. Louis Cathedral. This is the oldest cathedral in the US continuously holding mass. There are also famous museums & restaurants all around the square. In addition, the French market is close by. This is the oldest open air, city market, in the US. As you can see, Jackson Square is at the heart of what's happening in the French Quarter! St. Louis Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in the US, continuously holding mass. Go enjoy daily mass, or just pop in for pictures of the beautiful architecture! New Orleans has the last authentic steamboat on the Mississippi River! Sure, there are lots of old paddlewheelers still on the river, but none of them run off of steam today, except this one! You can even tour the engine room! Enjoy a 2 hour ride on the river & get a good taste of New Orleans! There is a local jazz band on board playing, as you enjoy a huge New Orleans spread of food. Grab a cocktail after your meal & head out to hear the history the captain is giving out, as you ride. One of the best experiences in the French Quarter! City Park is a way to keep some country in the city! It is over 1,000 acres of both natural space AND hosts a slew of recreation, activities & attractions.
"Over 170 years old, one mile wide and three miles long comprising a total of 1,300 acres, New Orleans City Park is one of the largest urban Parks in the country. It is located in the heart of the city and is the largest recreational area for the entire region. City Park is home to the largest collection of mature live oaks in the world, with some trees over 800 years old." (from their website)
Their list of attractions include; a botanical garden, an amusement park, complete with a roller coaster, ferris wheel & more. The carousel within the amusement park is a treasure! "Since 1906 little kids and kids at heart have enjoyed the "flying horses" of City Park's antique carousel, one of only about 100 antique wooden carousels in the country and the last one in Louisiana. The carousel, featuring the masterwork of famed carousel carvers Looff and Carmel, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places." This is one amazing place to experience Nola! Not only has it been voted New Orleans best Cajun restaurant, but several nights a week, they host live music! Many of these music nights are Zydeco music, a native Louisiana music. there is also a huge wooden dance floor in the middle of the restaurant, where you'll see people getting down, in between bites! If you don't know what Zydeco music is, read up!
